Press Release of Better Nigeria Youth Forum’s #HopeForTheChildren project.

‘What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what differences we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we live’ ~ Tata Madiba, Nelson Mandela.
If we live in a world where complaints are more than actions, activists are more than those who are in-charge, faults are more than accolades , it is necessary that some people rise to make the change (s) needed.
In this light, a group of young, courageous and ebullient youths came together to form Better Nigerian Youth Forum.
Founded in May, 2013; Better Nigeria Youth Forum (B.N.Y.F) is a non-governmental, non-political, not-for-profit making organisation, founded by a conglomerate of purposeful youths to promote humanitarian services, volunteer works, impacting in kids positively, use of social media for nation building, education, youth development/empowerment, entrepreneurship and every other aspect of Nation building.
We inspire more role models of our generation, to lead by example and thus create a better community where people can regard themselves as leaders and the owner of their immediate environment.
At BNYF, we join other great minds involved in nation building and great humanitarian services for our nation; Nigeria.
This, we believe, is humble assignment in which we have been executing with community services and rendering help to those in need of one thing or the other around us.
We find children more vulnerable especially when they are orphans and less privileged that is why we have decided to always celebrate with them on 27th of May and days around it in a unique way to appreciate, recognize and make them feel a sense of belonging to this great community of ours (Nigeria).
The #HopeForTheChildren project is 3years old this year with the same tempo of recent years where children in orphanages receive food items, clothing, books e.t.c which kind-hearted individuals give to us so as to make the Children’s day celebration a memorable day for each of the orphans and less-privileged.
This year, our focus is on orphans at orphanage homes in Iyana Ipaja, Alimosho and Ikeja.
We seek support for this course as we’ve always been getting…

Usian Bolt will get the chance to fulfill one of his sporting dreams after being given a"trial" with English Premier League soccer club Manchester United. Bolt discussed his love for soccer after his sensational performance in the men’s 100-meter final on Sunday, insisting he has the physical attributes to make it as a professional player. United has responded by giving him the chance to prove his talents following the Olympics. A source at old Trafford said:"Just like everyone else, theplayers are huge fans of Boltand have massive respect for him," the source said."We would love to have him along. After he spoke about the club after the most-watched race in the world it makes perfect sense. United’s veteran defender Rio Ferdinand contacted Bolt via Twitter on Tuesday to offer congratulations on his Olympic record-breaking triumph in the 100 meters. "If you want that trial at Man Utdshout me," Ferdinand tweet."I’ll speak to the boss. Well done in 100m." Bolt replied: "After the Olympics we work on that … lol … thanks man." What do you think? should Bolt go on to do the trials or should he stick to athletics?

Just so you know

Lt. Col Ishaq Rano, Assistant Director, Islamic Affairs of the Nigerian Army, says that killing and bombing of Churches by the Boko Haram sect is forbidden in Islam. Rano, who spoke during the special Juma’at prayer to commemorate the 2012 Nigerian army day celebration in Jos, said BokoHaram members were not “good Muslims” and termed their actions as “haram”. “We are praying to God to touch Boko Haram to stop killing innocent people, to stop killing Christians and to stop killing security personnel. “In Islam, killing is not allowed, it is forbidden in Islam to kill anybody.” Rano emphasised that nobody had the right to kill anybody, adding that only a court of law could condemn a person. “Even if a person commits a crime in your presence, you can’t kill him or her, but you can take him or her to the law court. “If Boko Haram members claim to be Muslims, then they are not good Muslims. They are only bearing Muslim names, they do not know Islam.” Rano, who is also the Chief Imam of 3 Division of the Nigerian army, lamented the current security challenge facing the country. “The Armed Forces and the country are no longer in peace. So this special Juma’at prayer is to pray for peace, stability and religious tolerance in the armed forces and in our dear country. “We are praying for the Almighty God to continue to keep Nigeria as one country. We are also praying to God to destroy anybody or group within or outside the country causing trouble.” Source: The Vanguards newspaper

Review: #EME 'State Of Mind'

The Empire Mates State of Mind album could serve as the playlistof a wild house party. Justhook your laptop to some mean speakers, hit play and turn up the volume. With a crew made up of sure hit-makers such as Banky W and Wizkid , the experienced Niyola , the rapper/singer Skales and the freshness of Shaydee Boi , this EME album is predominantly made of party jams. The group starts with the hit ‘ Baddest Boy ’ featuring Wizkid, Skales and Banky W which has already been bumping on radio stations and clubs for a while now. The same trio appear on the next track ‘ Get Down Tonight ’ which gets things really kicking. It’s still the same formula – Wizzy holds the hook and drops the first verse while Banky W and Skales do their thing on the otherverses. The new boy Shaydee makes his debut on ‘ Sun Mo Mi ’ alongsideSkales and Mr Wellington. On the ‘ Don’t Dull ’ influenced beat, Shaydee flexes his R&B tinged vocals. EME’s golden boy Wizkid raises the temperature on‘ Roll ’ It. While Banky W features on the song, it’s quite clear that on this song, Wizkid runs the show. The party continueson ‘ Find My Trouble ’ featuring Banky W, Shaydee and Skales. Wizkid appears in all his pop glory on ‘ Body ’. He rocks this beat on a solo tip and delivers a song that will definitely be a hit on the dance floor. With Shizzy (producer of the Davido ’s smash hit ‘ Dami Duro ’) on the beat, Wizkid’s breezy raplike flow makes sure you burn some calories. Skales solo appearance isnext. On ‘ Ko Mo Le ’ Skales shows that he has matured as a pop artiste. While some of his early fans didn’t embrace his debut single ‘ Mukulu ’, ‘ Ko Mo Le ’ sounds like a song that will convince even the harshest critic. The momentum stops on ‘ Dance ’ featuring Banky W & X.O Senavoe, as the Euro-pop sound doesn’t keep up with the groove of earlier tracks. Niyola, with her talent andexperience, picks things back up with ‘ Don’t Go There ’. It is a mature, well-structured party song from Ms Nini. Wizkid can’t seem to relive the magic on ‘ London Girl ’. Fortunately he makes up for his slip-up on the Sarz produced ‘ Dance For Me’ . Next up is panty dropping music, where Shaydee once againshows he is a grounded R&B artiste on the track ‘ Follow Go House ’. Skales vocals aren’t vintage R&B, but Shaydee’s voice comes in at the right time to set themood. R&B lovers will surely love this one. Banky W wraps things up nicely on the track. The half Nigerian, half Cameroonian, Skales drops another solo offering on ‘ My Baby ’. This time he gives us the best of both worlds, rapping and singing on this mid-tempo cut. It’s back to R&B settings on ‘ Only You ’ featuring Nigerian-born American singer Rotimi , Banky W and Shaydee. The main trio (Wizkid, Skales and Banky W) appear on the thumping ‘ Reppin’ EMEazzyyy ’ which features a chopped and screwed line of BankyW’s on eLDee ’s 2008 hit song ‘ Big Boy ’. Skales and Niyola handle things on ‘ Wetin I Want ’ which takes us back to the dance floor. But it’s not allparty and steamy songs; The EME team waves the green-white-green flag on‘ Change ’. Wedding songs are the in-thing right now, and The EME team also sticks their fork into that pie with‘ See My Mama ’ by Wizkid, Banky W and Skales. The song is a decent attempt to get the bride and groom moving. The crew’s disc jockey, DJ Xclusive gets his DJ Khaled on on ‘ Can’t Stop Us ’- the obligatory posse cut
